Iceland's Volcano Erupts Again, Causing Thousands of Earthquakes

Fifth Eruption in Five Months

A volcano in southwest Iceland has erupted for the fifth time in just five months, sending lava spewing into the air and causing thousands of earthquakes.

Major Eruption Predicted

Scientists are now predicting that a major eruption could be on the horizon, as the volcano has been hit by over 18,000 earthquakes in just over a week.

The eruption began on Wednesday, May 29, and has continued to spew lava and ash into the air. The eruption is not currently causing any major disruptions, but scientists are urging residents to be prepared for a larger eruption.
