2010-11 Boston Celtics

The 2010-11 Boston Celtics season was the 65th season of the Boston Celtics in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Celtics were coming off of a disappointing 2009-10 season in which they finished with a 50-32 record and lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.

The Celtics made a number of changes to their roster in the offseason, including acquiring point guard Rajon Rondo from the Phoenix Suns. Rondo quickly became a key player for the Celtics, averaging 10.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game. He also led the NBA in steals with 2.3 per game.

The Celtics also got strong contributions from Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett. Pierce averaged 18.9 points per game, Allen averaged 17.0 points per game, and Garnett averaged 15.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. The Celtics finished the regular season with a 56-26 record, good for second place in the Eastern Conference.

In the playoffs, the Celtics defeated the New York Knicks in the first round, the Miami Heat in the second round, and the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals. They then faced the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. The Celtics won the series in six games, giving them their 17th NBA championship.
