Celtics Injury Report: Martin Day-to-Day with Shoulder Discomfort

Red Sox Setup Man Unavailable in Sunday's Victory

Multiple Boston Starters to Miss Sunday's Game

The Boston Celtics' injury report continues to grow, with right-handed pitcher Chris Martin being added to the list on Sunday. Martin, a key setup man for the Red Sox, was unavailable in the team's 5-4 victory against the New York Yankees due to discomfort in his left shoulder.

According to manager Alex Cora, Martin experienced the discomfort during his pregame warmup and was unable to pitch. The injury is being described as day-to-day, and Martin's status for the team's upcoming series against the Toronto Blue Jays is uncertain.

In addition to Martin, the Celtics are also dealing with injuries to multiple starters. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart are all expected to miss Sunday's game against the Washington Wizards. Tatum is dealing with a sprained right ankle, while Brown has a sprained right thumb. Smart is out with a right shoulder contusion.

The Celtics have been hit hard by injuries this season, with several key players missing significant time. However, the team has managed to stay afloat, currently holding a 13-12 record and sitting in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

With multiple starters expected to be out, the Celtics will need to rely on their depth to get through Sunday's game. The team will likely turn to Aaron Nesmith and Payton Pritchard to fill in the starting lineup, while Sam Hauser and Danilo Gallinari will be expected to provide scoring off the bench.

The Celtics will hope to get some of their injured players back soon, but for now, they will need to find a way to win with the players they have available.
